Physical Therapy






                                         When does your child need PT?

  • Delayed motor skills (not rolling, sitting, crawling, or walking age appropriately)
  • Unable to keep up physically with peers
  • Toe walking
  • Clumsy
  • Weak muscles

  • Obesity
  • Poor endurance
  • High or low muscle tone
  • Postural malalignments
  • After surgery
  • Pain with movement
  • Balance problems
  • Tight muscles


Pediatric PT's assist parents and their children in the following ways:     

  • Understand how your child's body works
  • Remove pain, restore function, improve gross motor skills
  • Prevent onset of secondary impairments and/or slow the progression of existing impairments
  • Manage movement disorders across the individual's lifespan
  • Provide assistance with choosing wheelchairs, seating systems, mobility equipment, and orthotic devices and daily living equipment
  • Design treatment plans and goals, including the use of special modalities such as Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES), taping and strapping, pressure garments, etc.

PT strives to enhance the individual's social and family roles over their lifespan by:

  • Designing optimal physical fitness and wellness program to improve quality of life by enhancing long term health benefits.


  • Contribute to the design of optimal combination of treatments and coordinate with other health care professionals (Partnership in health)
